Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH) took to the airwaves to express his desire for President Trump to take more decisive action to contain the spread of the coronavirus Wednesday. He spoke in no uncertain terms.
“If we can apply enough political pressure to the president,” said Ryan on the nationally syndicated Rick Ungar Show, “Hopefully a lightbulb will go off or someone around him will say, look, take over this thing. You’re gonna own it one way or the other. Own it by getting sh*t done.”
Ryan announced this week the Medical Supply Chain Emergency Act, legislation to force President Trump to implement the Defense Production Act of 1950 and federalize the manufacturing and distribution of scarce in-demand medical supplies. The bill is co-sponsored by Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin (D-MI).
